Simple Pleasures

Photo of the Day

While I was in Indy this past weekend I walked past a place that I remembered from a previous trip. I was in the middle of chaos as many people had descended on Indy for the Super Bowl. Under a bridge though a man was playing a violin. While walking up to him I thought that the scene was worth a picture. When I saw what it said to the side of him I knew that it was. I have always liked how simple this picture was, but what story it told as well.

Technical Data

I have always wondered how to treat this picture. The colors over the shoulder of the artist were very nice, and I always wanted to find a way to include them. They way that I found did not include the color. I took the advice of the title, and I took all of the color out of the picture. I never found a good way to show this picture in black and white. I tried the HDR black and white preset by Matt Kloskowski on this picture, and I liked the result. After a little tweaking of the sliders I was on my way. I am glad that I was finally able to post this picture, and that I was able to find a way to make the photo pop a bit.
