Back in the fall I was in downtown Lafayette getting some pictures of the kids in costume trick or treating. It was a very productive night that has produced many pictures for this blog. This is one of my favorites for some reason. I love the way that the fading light comes in through the trees. I also like the small amount of business that can be seen in the picture. This is just a brief glimpse of the town of Lafayette, but one that I really like.

Technical Data

This picture was one that I worked on for a while. Like the picture the other day I might have been too attached to it to just let it go. I played with the sliders for a while before finally deciding to try a preset. I used Matt Kloskowski’s strong HDR preset here to achieve the look that I was going for. I wanted the crispness of the night to come through. I also did not want to lose the beautiful light that I saw that night. This preset did all of that without me altering anything after the fact. I love it when a plan comes together.
