The Old Bunkhouse

The bunk house in black and white

Photo of the Day

I thought that I would include a picture of the bunkhouse that I stayed in out in Colorado. Every night I would walk down to this bunkhouse to spend the night. I loved the view of both the cabin that the others were staying in, as well as how Hahn’s Peak looked over the frozen pone. Yesterday’s picture was taken about five feet in front of this cabin. I don’t think that I would have had that picture had I been in the cabin with everyone else.

Technical Data

This was taken with my new Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens. I really had fun with this lens on my first day out in Colorado. The only problem with the outdoor shots was the fact that the sky was so gray. Everything seemed to be the same color, and the pictures were not very interesting. I used a Matt Kloskowski preset that I downloaded on the plane ride to edit these in Lightroom, and it worked out great. The preset was his HDR black and white look. From there this shot just needed a little tweaking, and it had a rougher look that I liked.
