Photo of the Day
I am still toying with the idea of posting a Christmas picture every day this month until Christmas. I don’t know if that will happen yet, but I guess I had better get something up today just in case I actually do this. I took this picture last year on Christmas Eve. We were at the LaPorte County Historical Museum to see the Giese Church. That church actually became a photo of the day here, but I did find some other things that were interesting. This museum came up with the idea of having holiday musical themes for all of the exhibits. This one was called “I’ll be home for Christmas.” I thought that it also made a good name for this post.
Technical Data
The first thing that I liked about this photo was the way that lights had the star appearance. This was due to the fact that I was shooting at f/16. That is not optimal for inside of a museum, but it really made this picture for me. In Lightroom I performed the normal adjustments that get the picture to somewhere where I like it. The main adjustment though was a crop. I cropped off of both sides of the picture to make it a bit more square. That square got rid of some distracting elements in the picture, and left me with a cleaner picture.
