A Rare View

Photo of the Day

While in Chicago for my photowalk in 2011 I had some time by myself in between sessions to get some shots. I had just had a very inspirational workshop that had me raring to go to get some shots. How could I be expected to wait for two hours to get some shooting in. I started walking around near where the workshop was at Navy Pier getting some shots. As I was taking this shot someone was yelling at me to stop. Of course I got the shot, and then turned to see who it was. It was a member of security that told me that I was not supposed to be back where I was. It was a beautiful location that gave an inspiring view of Lake Michigan. Of course you couldn’t be there. I guess that the doors should have been locked but weren’t. I explained my ignorance, and I was allowed to go on my way. I did get some good shots in my limited time there though. I have always felt as if the Hancock is the forgotten landmark in Chicago. That is why I like the idea of this shot.

Technical Data

This section is easy today. I applied another of Matt Kloskowski’s Lightroom presets to it, and then exported it. On a day when editing was the last thing that I wanted to do it made things much easier.
