Photo of the Day
With the election in just a couple of days I thought that I would post another picture from my Presidential Museum travels. I have been to the Ford Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan more than any other. The fact that it was only about two hours from my old home made that journey very easy. I was there the night they had his body lying in state, and I returned the following weekend when I took this photo of the support and encouragement that was left by the entrance sign. Ford was a man thrown into a very tough situation much like Harry Truman was. Our world was not at war like when Truman was sworn in, but our country was. He had a tough job of making the office of the President look respectable again. He was often lampooned, but he really did the best that he could. I have always loved this shot very much, and I am glad that over five years later I can post it.
Technical Data
Five years ago I was using a different camera with no idea what RAW was for. I just knew that it took up way more space on my memory cards. This was shot as a jpeg which makes it that much harder to edit in Lightroom. I did my best to make the picture look a little better, but for once I took the time on the scene to get it right so I couldn’t do much to it.
