A Fiery Beginning

Photo of the Day

Yesterday I was at the Purdue tackle football game against the Penn State Nittany Lions. I thought that I had a good seat for the new opening when the team runs onto the field. It was just dark enough because of the overcast conditions to get a shot like this. I was thrilled with how this looked in camera, and I knew that it would make for a decent shot. The game did not turn out the way that I would have hoped it would. Purdue was outgunned all day, and Penn State was not phased thinking about how their world was turned upside down almost a year ago. They may have played all the harder because of it. More of my shots from the game can be found at my seldom updated sports blog here.

Technical Data

I brought this shot into Lightroom to crop it and darken it a bit. I upped the highlights a bit to achieve that goal. My goal in editing this shot was to make it look a bit darker so that the glow from the fire would reflect off of the players. I was very happy with my results.
