Throwback Photo
Many things are going on right now that made me choose this photo for the throwback photo of the day. The first is that Tuesday I heard that after one season with the Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was fired. He had a good run in Chicago, but it was time for him to go after last season. I was surprised at how the Marlins season turned out, and even more shocked that Guillen got the quick hook. The other reason that I chose this photo is that tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of the White Sox World Series title. I will never forget watching that game on TV at the United Center as the White Sox clinched it in Houston. I was thrilled to be in a group watching the game, and that night in Chicago was great. A couple of days later the Sox had their day in the sun going through the streets of Chicago. I really wish that I had the gear that I do now to capture that day. At the time though all I had was a point and shoot. I had to make due with what I had. I always liked this picture of Ozzie waving up to the platform where Mayor Daley was with all of the confetti coming down. It was a great day to be in Chicago, and I am glad that I have this memory of the day.
Technical Data
As I said this was shot with a point and shoot. That is the requirement to get a picture on Throwback Thursday. I was not working with much then so I was not able to do too much to it in Lightroom. I did turn up the clarity, the highlights, and the vibrance. I also brought back some of the shadows in the scene. That was the extent of the work that I performed on this shot.
