Throwback Thursday: Pawnee Rainbow

Throwback Picture

I hinted last week that things might be changing on here. I have been posting older pictures on Fridays and calling them Flashback Friday’s. I had this idea to post them a day earlier, and re-title the segment. I thought that perhaps Friday could be used for phone pictures instead. I will have to see how this goes over time. Today I really like the picture. It is one that I really didn’t even know existed until a couple of weeks ago. It was shot with the first point and shoot that was mine. A rainbow appeared over my parents house, and I was able to capture it. I had gotten the point and shoot the Christmas before, and it worked out very well for me. It met an untimely end a couple of weeks later when I was in a bad storm, and the humidity fried something in it. I also like this picture because two of the three cars that I have owned appear in it.

Technical Data

As I said above this is an old jpeg that I recently found. I tried to change a few things in Lightroom, but the pixels just aren’t there. I did manage to get it looking a little better though. One thought is to post pictures as is, but I like tweaking them now. I just can’t stop myself.

Kelby Worldwide Photowalk

Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over  1,300 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Over 30,000 walkers have already signed up so far. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.
