Photo of the Day
Normally when you see day 365 you think the end of the year. Well in this case it is not. This is a leap year that I picked to take on this project so I have to go 366 days. Add to that the fact that I skipped a number in the 200’s, and you have a project that on paper will look to go 367 days. I was going to go back and re-number the 100 or so posts, but then I realized that the blurbs often refer to the number. It would have just been awkward so I elected to just go with the error. So after today I have two days left to get pictures.
You would think with just a few days left that I would have done a little more to end with a bang. I had intentions of going out seeking a good shot today, but things just get in the way. We ended up going by this theater tonight after dinner so I tried my hand at getting a handheld shot. That is not easy at night, but I managed to get something decent. The last two days may end up being sports related. I started with two days of football so I may end just that way.
Technical Data
As I said above this was handheld so I had to pump up the ISO to get somewhere that I could hold steady. I then brought the photo into Lightroom to work on it a little. I adjusted most of it to where I liked it, but the interior and the movie posters still looked a little off. I used the adjustment brush to add a little highlights and clarity to those areas, and I think the end product looked a little better for my efforts.
Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over 1,100 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Over 22,000 walkers have already signed up so far. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.
