Photo of the Day
Tonight yet again I did not have a picture late at night. I really think that this year long project has taken its toll on me. I really don’t have anything left in the bank to shoot when the day does not turn out good for me. Tonight was yet another of those days. I looked around the house really quick, and I found nothing. It was when I went outside to get something out of the garage that I noticed this drill. I have wanted an impact drill for a while now, and a few months ago I finally got one. I have not used it like I should have so far, but that just means that I will have to find a job to use it for.
Technical Data
Not a lot to report here. I did try something new that really seemed to work here. I turned on the overhead light in the dining room to illuminate my subject. The lights in the next room were off, and with a high aperture I was able to make it appear as if I had a dark background. I guess that this is all about learning, and today I learned a few things about product photography. This would make a terrible product showcase shot, but it is an interesting one so I picked it. I love the way that the tip of the drill is the only thing in focus. To me the make of the drill is obvious so the fact that it is blurred out does not matter.
Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over 1,100 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Over 22,000 walkers have already signed up so far. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.
