Flashback Photo of the Day
Today’s flashback photo is one of my early favorites. Before I knew anything about composition, or lighting, or even how to hold the camera right I knew things that looked good to me. This shot taken in Milwaukee of Marquis Grissom in old County Stadium has always been a great shot in my mind. From our seats at a Brewers-Cubs game I had this great view of the new Miller Park towering over County Stadium. The addition of center fielder Grissom just added to the scale of the shot. There are a few things that I might do differently now over 12 years later, but I still like this shot.
In case you were wondering this game was a fifteen inning marathon that was eventually won by the Cubs. It was a long night that saw two seventh inning stretches. Of course in Milwaukee they sing “Roll Out the Barrel” for their stretch. I had a blast, and this picture is a reminder of that great night.
