Photo of the Day
Today I attended the first half of the Purdue game against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. I would have liked to stay for the second half, but I had to get back to my hometown for a wedding. Who plans a wedding on a Purdue football weekend? The good news is that the game was over by the half, or the 33-9 score would tell you that anyway. I had a new vantage point again this week so the angle is a bit different. Two scores happened right in front of me, but a gentleman with quick hands led to my shots having arms in them. The arms are in focus, but I didn’t think that they were in focus enough to be the picture of the day. This picture is of Purdue running back Brandon Cottom at the start of his 87 yard touchdown run. Cottom is the big running back so the huge run was a bit unexpected, at least to me. I liked how this shot looked early in the big run so I thought that it could be the photo of the day.
Technical Data
I basically had little time so I just put this shot into Lightroom and used one of the new sports presets by Matt Kloskowski. You can get the presets free on his blog which is hyperlinked at the bottom. The preset gave this shot the right amount of pop, and I liked the vignette at well.
More Shots From the Game
On my sports blog I have posted more shots from the game. I could do a photo gallery here, but that has always been a feature on my other blog. I don’t keep it up like I used to, but I like keeping the photo gallery on that site. Here is a link for the pictures from yesterday.
Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over 1,000 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Nearly 17,000 walkers have already signed up so far. Activity has picked up a bit on the Purdue sites even with the short time being posted. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.
Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk ( Official Purdue Site)

I am liking these David, the colour is fantastic, they are really clear and are great sports images. I don’t get American Football though, I have to be honest. 🙂
Stick with us Leann. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.
It is probably best that you don’t get into it because it can be addicting. I live for Saturdays.
A lot of people are the same here with Aussie Rules Football, I don’t really follow it though. Haha.
