Photo of the Day
Today was the first day of the 2012 Football season for Purdue. I had a good seat for the game, and I was hoping to get some good pictures. I had a few ideas for some things that I hadn’t shot before, but when Eastern Kentucky lined up for an extra point I knew exactly what to do. I focused right on the line knowing that Kawann Short has a knack for batting kicks down. He did not disappoint, and sent this kick back. Not too long after that he batted down a field goal attempt. I have that one as well with the ball actually on his hand, but it doesn’t look this dramatic for some reason. I will post that shot on my sports blog tomorrow. It was a good game that saw the Boilers win big. It should not have been a test, and it wasn’t. Purdue will travel to South Bend next weekend to play the Irish who also won big today. That should be a good game. Perhaps a picture could come from that.
Technical Data
This was taken with the 70-200mm lens that I have been renting. I really love this thing, and it will not be long before I own one. I had the 1.4x extender on it to give me a little more zoom than I would normally have. I did nothing to this shot in post at all. That is the beauty of it. This shot is straight out of the camera, and I love it. I know that sports shots aren’t the biggest hit on this site, but it is how I started shooting, and it is fun to get back to the basics.
