Bonus Photo of the Day
Last night after the Sox beat the Seattle Mariners we were treated to a fireworks display. I had some pretty decent shots from the game, but I have a sports blog that I don’t keep up for those. I was finally able to shoot some fireworks last night. Granted it was not in the conditions that I would have liked, but when is it ever perfect? After shooting 18 innings of baseball you would have thought that I was done shooting, but the fireworks got me back in the game. I will have to find another fireworks night to build on what I learned last night. More pictures from both games Saturday can be found here.
Technical Data
To get any kind of trails I had to get down to 0.6 seconds. I bumped down my ISO to get this done. I really did not want sharp fireworks, but rather a nice flower effect. I tried a few things before settling on 0.6 seconds. At that shutter speed not all of the pictures were crisp. It is hard to handhold a camera steady for that long. I shot in burst mode though so the middle shots seemed to turn out. A couple of adjustments in Lightroom, and you have the shot that you see above.
