Photo of the Day
Tonight once again I had no picture getting late into the night. I heard thunder so I decided to take a walk to the back deck. The lightning was really in the clouds with nothing good to shoot. I nearly got drenched once for my efforts. After a quick downpour I went out to try again. This time the sun had just gone down. I was trying to capture some sort of lightning when I noticed the orange tint on my screen. That is when I decided to frame up the shot you see above and call it good. With the low clouds the light from the city of West Lafayette really reflected. I liked this shot, and thought it was good enough. I am in a bit of a slump lately. Nothing really seems interesting around here. That may be because it is day 309, and I have shot most of the objects around me though.
Technical Data
This shot was edited in Lightroom 4 again. I turned up the temperature a bit as well as added some clarity. A trick that I really learned today was that I also searched for the proper white balance. Now you don’t have to get it right in the camera. You can adjust it later. It was that change that really made the picture come alive, and represent what I saw in real life a bit better.
