Photo of the Day
This photo was another one for the second day in a row that just kind of fell to me. As I was leaving work a small storm was making its way in. I did a bit of chasing in order to place something in front of the storm. It wasn’t until post production that I noticed something that made the picture really stand out to me. Maybe it is just me, but I see a large man bearing down on the barn. I can see his arms on each side clearly as well as a face with what appears to be an open mouth. The sky can be dramatic a lot of times, but how often does a man come out of the clouds. It is an ominous sight for sure that gives a feeling that everyone can relate to.
Technical Data
This is another shot that was completely edited in Lightroom. I even played around with the brush a bit because I wanted the barn to be a bit darker. I got everything else right where I wanted it, and then dialed in the barn. The main focus today has to be on the man coming out of the cloud. Lightroom is coming to me a bit more now, and I have been very happy with it. I am still shooting with HDR in mind, but I am not processing them that way.
Other News
Today is day 300 of the blog. Ever since 1985 the number 300 has meant something to me. I vividly remember Tom Seaver and Carlton Fisk celebrating Seaver’s 300th win. It is a major milestone for a pitcher in baseball. Since then I have come to appreciate that feat even more. Taking a picture a day for 300 straight days pales in comparison to that feat, but I still think it is a huge accomplishment. I now have 66 days left ahead of me. The end is in sight, but it is still a long way off.
Late Edit
After posting this I realized that this would probably be another ideal candidate for black and white. Maybe tomorrow I will have the time to convert this over to black and white to see how that looks.
Love the drama! I think it would work well in BW
I have that version set to auto post this morning. I really like the b&w version better. Thanks for stopping by!
I think it’s going to look really great! Talk about drama!
Love barns, they are one of my favorite subjects. Good job on post production.
