Photo of the Day
Last night just after a torrential downpour we made our way across town to McGraw’s for dinner. My parents were down for the day, and we were celebrating my father’s birthday. Of course before we went inside I had to snap a picture to get that out of the way. I really wanted to get closer to the river, but the bank would not allow it. Actually where I was standing is usually underwater so I was lucky to get where I was. The fresh rain throughout the day gave the Wabash River some life that it didn’t have the day before.
Technical Data
This shot was edited in Lightroom again. I took three exposure from -2 to +2 to take to Photomatix for Lightroom, but everything felt too unreal. I decided to just adjust the exposure a bit and crop this one.
This is a great picture, I really like it! It also kind of shows that HDR is in many cases just a short cut to simulate the right lighting conditions. In my book sunshine just after or before a storm is still the best lighting for landscape photography. Would like to see this one in black and white as well.
Thanks for the kind words. This may have looked good in black and white. I really need to utilize monochrome more.
