Day 261: Flower Power

Photo of the Day

Today after work I drove just down the road to the community gardens. I don’t have a plot there, but earlier in the day I spotted some sunflowers. I thought that they would make a great picture. I tried my wide angle so that I could get the awesome blue sky and clouds in the background. I decided to swap out lenses to use my 50mm. When I stood up I noticed this bee fly on the sunflower. I tried to wait until he flew away or moved, but he was going nowhere. He finally showed some movement and I grabbed this shot.

Technical Data

This shot was edited almost entirely in Lightroom. I really am just starting to see how great this program is. I thought that the center of the sunflower was lost, but I was able to recover it nicely. After getting it how I wanted I sent the image into Photoshop. I tired two crops, but I liked this one the best. On the advice of my assistant I posted this one.
