Flag Day

Special Photo of the Day

I thought that I would bring this picture out of the archives today because it is Flag Day. I took it in 2010 while out in Colorado for my brothers wedding. The ranch we were staying at had this flag along with a great view of Hahns Peak in the background. That was a great week in Colorado with some awesome memories. It is nice to finally get one of them on this blog. When the photo 365 project is complete I think that I will fill the photo of the day void with pictures from the past. I can post good pictures when I get them, but I think that this will help alleviate the pressure of getting a good shot everyday. This photo was also taken on the Fourth of July which is why I apparently felt so patriotic that day.

Technical Data

This picture has been through the ringer. First I took it through Photoshop to do some minor cropping. From there I used the Topaz Adjust plugin to ad the Dramatic filter to give it some character that I thought it was missing. From there I ran it through Lightroom to get rid of some dust spots that were on my sensor at the time. Once again I did not realize that the watermark that I was using for the trial version came over, but I know now. I will have to turn that off for today’s picture of the day.

This is also the first time that I have experimented with linking this site to SmugMug. I set up an account a while back when it was 30% off, but I really have not been messing with it. With a normal site it would be great to just link to the SmugMug site with the main picture. To do that with this template though would leave out the technical data on the left that I like as well as put the picture below the title. I like how prominent the picture is here. Instead I added the link to the bottom of the page which shows up as a much smaller picture. Clicking on that link will take you to my SmugMug account. When I take some better pictures that will make purchasing them a bit easier.
