Day 253: Camille’s Is The Place

Photo of the Day

Tonight we rode our bikes to Camille’s when everyone got home. I never knew the place existed when I lived next door to it, but now it has become one of my favorite places to eat. I like the interior, and have been waiting for the right time to get a shot of it. Of course my camera backpack was on my back on the ride so I set up the mini-tripod and took this shot. I hope it is not a bad omen, but this shot was not ruined with people getting in my way. Maybe we were just there at the right time. I hope that they get a lot of business at other times of the day.

Technical Data

Of course I had to shoot this interior in HDR. I combined the -2, 0, and +2 exposures to create this shot in Photomatix. After that I put the tonemapped shot with the -2 and correct exposures in Photoshop Elements to do some touchup. I ran the correct exposure through Topaz Adjust 5 and applied the dramatic effect to it. Then I brought it back in to give the ceiling and the lights a more realistic feel. I also combined that exposure with the tone mapped version to touch up the signs a bit. The underexposed image was used to give the neon ‘to go’ sign a little more life. That and a small crop gives you the picture above.
