Day 229: Waves of Grain

Today I was taking some pictures of the windmills near Fowler after work when I came across this field. The grain was about three feet tall, and just blowing all over in the wind. It was truly a beautiful sight, and I wanted to capture part of what I saw on camera. I think that I did that a little here. You can see the grass rippled all over because of the high wind. I also love the tracks in the sky from the planes. I liked the original shot, but I ran the RAW file through Photomatix to see if I could make it pop. I just added some subtle enhancements that I think made the picture work a little better. I really love the windmills by Fowler because they seem to have more around them. They are set on scenic hills with some nicer barns near them. I may have to make the short drive here to capture a sunset soon.
