Today at Lambert Field we said goodbye to many things. The first of which is the little stadium that I have come to love. The new one will be much nicer, but for some reason I really like the old one. The new one will actually have locker rooms and other things that a Big Ten facility should have, but I love the fact that seeing a game in Lambert feels like you are in on a secret. I will miss the field, but seeing this great team come from behind to win in extra innings to get win number 40 on the season is a great way to send it off.
The second farewell today was for the seniors. This was a class that has won a lot of games. They came close to a couple Big Ten titles before finally breaking through this season. I chose the picture of ace Joe Haase because I liked it the best out of the senior introductions that I saw. While we said goodbye to the seniors you have to wonder if this was the last time in West Lafayette for a couple of the juniors. Time will tell on that one.
From a technical standpoint I changed things up a bit today. I have been stubborn and I stayed in manual mode all season so far. Today after the game started I switched over to aperture priority mode in order to make things a little easier on me. I liked the results, and I may end up there again.
