Day 215: A Little Inspiration

Today I downloaded my first book for the Nook app on my phone. Of course it dealt with photography, and more specifically photography at night. I really wanted to get a shot at night tonight, but it looked as if a rainstorm was going to come in before I could. I rolled the dice and headed towards a spot just down the road that I have been eyeing for a while. I really love the way that lights and buildings look when they are reflected on the water so maybe I could get my shot in. Just as darkness settled in the rain started. It tailed off a little, but I stayed and waited just a while longer to get my shot. This may not have been the exact shot that I wanted, but I liked how it turned out. Shooting just after sunset may have produced a better picture than shooting later at night. This is only a three shot HDR that was taken using what would normally have been the three underexposed images in my six shot mix. I have been experimenting a little with HDR, and I think the shots look a bit more realistic when the foreground does not look as if it is in daylight. I have a lot of work to do to get to where I want to be, but slowly but surely I am getting there.
