Day 200: A Few More Reflections

Tonight I wanted a great picture to celebrate the 200th day of this adventure. Of course I drove out to the windmills to get a shot at sunset. I actually took a few that I liked, and I was on my way home when I spotted a beautiful scene over a small lake. I have been dying to shoot reflections, and this was my chance. I pulled off the road and grabbed the tripod quickly. I set up in order to catch the light, but debated the orientation of the photo. I chose to go vertical to get the moon and some stars. The shot that you see above is a nine shot HDR compilation with a new twist. I liked how the moon looked in the individual shots, but it moved too fast for the HDR shot to look good. I tried a new technique of erasing the remnants of the four moons that showed up in the HDR shot in order to place one moon from one of my other shots. I think that it looks a little fake, but I will have to play around with this a little more in the future. Tomorrow I will post some of the other shots from day 200 on my Facebook page and on Google+. I spent a long time looking for the perfect shot for today, and the one that I found was just down the road. This combines many elements that I have learned in the first 100 days with a new one that I started playing around with today. Another milestone down!
