Today I made it pretty far into the day before getting my picture. Luckily just down the road the West Lafayette baseball team was back in action. Shooting games like this at night is always a challenge with my equipment because of the lighting. You are always walking the fine line between the scene being bright enough, but with enough shutter speed to capture the action. I think that I had my camera dialed in during the top of the fifth inning when a bunting situation came up. I slid over a bit to get a clear shot of the third baseman as he charged in to make a play. I got the shot that I wanted, but was pleasantly surprised to see the ball in frame as well. I loved how the shot looked in the camera, and knew that I had my shot right then. I would love to say that I meant to have the ball in frame, but it was a happy accident. I did put myself in the position to get the shot though. I will have some of the other pictures that I took tonight up on my Google+ page tomorrow.
