Day 186: The Rows

Today I was out driving near the windmills when I spotted a field that seemed to be begging for a picture. The field had very nice lines that looked great as I drove down the road alongside of here. I couldn’t get the angle that I wanted though so I drove right next to the lines. I wanted to follow one of them all the way up to the farm house. The picture above is the execution of my idea, but it just didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted it to. Maybe tomorrow I will try something similar with this same field. The thing that made the shot turn out halfway decent is the fact that the only clouds in the sky seemed to be right above this farmhouse. That gave me just enough interest to take the picture. I tried to merge the six pictures into an HDR image, but both times I really did not like the final result. The blue sky just looked very unreal. In the end I went back to my six pictures that I used and found the one that had the correct exposure, and made that my picture of the day. This summer when the fields are planted and growing I would like to experiment a bit more with the lines in the fields. Today I learned that I needed to get a little height to get the shot that I wanted. I should have not gone down to a knee, but instead climbed up on my car. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
