I really never thought that I would title a post after a Nelson song, but here it is 176 days into this project. Friday morning I woke up to the sound of thunderstorms in Chicago. I thought that the day might be ruined, but they quickly stopped. I decided to hurry out and try and capture some of the city just after the heavy rain. The day before I rushed over to the bean to get some shots. As I made my way through Millennium Park I somehow went right around this unique piece of art. The day before I heard the guy selling the Streetwise magazine say that he was on the wall just around the corner, but I didn’t know what he meant. Imagine my surprise when I happened upon this scene. I hurried up to set up my camera with a mini tripod that would put me low to the ground. I really wanted the effect of the dual scene with the reflection in the water. I like how most of this shot came out after processing the six shots into one HDR image. HDR really seems to do wonders for scenes with water in them.
Like a lot. I always love how a city looks after it rains, like it has been cleaned and varnished. It is the cold and being wet that I dislike…!
