Day 151: One Step Closer

Tonight after work I racked the beer that I brewed last Tuesday. I probably could have racked it sooner, but I really don’t think that it hurt anything to sit in the carboy an extra day or two. I did not take as many pictures as I did my first beer, but I did like this one that I took. I was just messing around with my 50mm lens knowing that I would get my photo of the day when the sun set. For some reason I completely forgot about the sunset as I cleaned all of my equipment so this picture that was just something to try out became the picture of the day. It won’t be long until I bottle this, and then hopefully I can get a picture of the day of the first real taste.

On a side note I didn’t have my normal siphon so I had to do it the old fashioned way by sucking on a hose to get it started. I got to taste my beer for the first time this way, and I was surprised at the fact that it was good! This is a beer that isn’t even a week old, and was in the mid 70’s, but it was alright. I can’t wait until I can taste it when it is at the optimal conditions.
