Day 150: Looking Ahead

Tonight I really wanted a killer sunset shot for my 150th day. I have a weird fascination with numbers that makes milestones more meaningful than they should be. Of course the weather did not cooperate, or at least so I thought. When I looked outside the skies looked as though it would storm soon. Of course I did not look towards the sunset. I am sure that it would have been great, but I had to settle for the afterglow. I thought that silhouetting this observatory with the afterglow of the sun would make for a good shot. Once again I did not have my tripod on me so I had to shoot handheld. In 150 days perhaps the thing that I have learned that will help me the most is that you need the tripod. Sometimes though the shot just happens when you aren’t expecting it. I have hit a milestone, but I still have a long way to go. Hopefully some color will start to come back with warmer temperatures so that I have some better options of things to shoot. One night I will have to come back here with my tripod to get a shot of the observatory with some stars above it. Add that to the growing list of things to shoot around town.
