Day 103: The King of Pop

Today it was a long time before I took my first picture. I tried some long exposures on the highway in front of my apartment, but for some reason I did not like them. I wanted to take a day off of using HDR to bail me out of being a bad photographer so I had to come up with something quick. I originally popped this bag of popcorn to get a steam shot from it, but it really did not steam after the initial opening. After that I just practised focusing on different kernels in the bag. This was my favorite of the shots that I took. I like my new 50mm lens, but with a cropped sensor I don’t feel like I can use it like it is supposed to be used. Of course shots like this aren’t too bad. The real test will be how well it takes pictures of people.
