Day 92: Nearly There

Today once again I did not take too many pictures. In fact I too two sets of six that would make two good HDR shots. I saw a nice opportunity to shoot this train that was stopped near the Tate and Lyle plant in Lafayette. An access road takes you right up to the tracks. The sun was to my right so I turned and shot with it at my back to get the train bending around the corner. The sky was void of any clouds though so the shot was not as cool as I thought it might be. I put the lens hood on the camera and turned to face the sun. I did a good job of keeping it off my lens, but failed to see that the lens hood made it into the shot. Even with the remnants of the hood in two corners I still thought that this was a better pictures. The smoke coming from the stacks at the plant probably sealed this picture’s fate on the blog for the day. I am glad that I turned around to get the safety shot for sure. When the light is in my favor I have a great spot to get a shot of this plant for another day. Today though I had to take what I could get. This has been an extremely busy week at work, and I haven’t really gotten out as much as I would have liked to shoot. The good news though is that the weekend is here, and I have a lot of time to use my camera. I have two 8 GB SD cards along with a 4GB card empty for the weekend. Hopefully with all of that space I can get a good enough image for this blog.
