Day 88: It’s Another HDR Barn

Today I had an extremely long day at work. In fact the only reason I was able to get a picture of anything except something in my apartment is because I have a couple of places nearby that I have kept as reserves. In fact I saw this one last night on the way home from checking out the sunsets. I was going to try and get a picture in the dark yesterday, but I knew that it would make for a better picture in the light someday. Today I had just a couple minutes to get a picture before heading back to work so I made this location work. The sky was very cool today, and I wish that I could have waited a few minutes in order to get the sun poking through the clouds. That was not really an option though so I had to pull up to the location, shoot, and then head back out.

I have been trying something new with the HDR work the past couple of times. My camera only shoots in three exposure brackets so I was overlapping one exposure. I wish I could remember where I read about shooting a lighter overexposed because it has better pixels than an underexposed image. So now I use all six of the exposures and shoot from +2 to -3 in one stop increments. For now this seems to have solved the halo problem that I was having around the focal point of the images. For now I think that I will keep trying this method because I really like the results.
