I have seen many posts showing the top 11 photos for the past year. With that in mind I went through some of my pictures to pick out my top 11. As usual that turned into some photos that were not technically sound, but had a special meaning getting thrown in the mix. In the end I could only get the list down to 15. For some reason I just couldn’t take four more away. In the end 15 sounds more like a number for a list anyway doesn’t it? Eleven is just one more than ten. Anyway that is how I justified it. With the format that I have chosen for this blog I can only post one photo per blog post. Instead of posting fifteen (eleven would have been shorter) separate posts I will just post one of the photos that has not been on this blog so far, and then post links to my Google+, Facebook, and Flickr accounts with the set in them. This was a good year for my photography. It seems as if I have picked up the pace because of this blog. It was easy to just mail in a days picture when nobody was reading. Now that people are reading I actually have to give them something to look at.
The photo above was taken very early in the year when the temperatures were just starting to warm up. I took in a doubleheader at Coveleski Stadium to see the hometown South Bend Silverhawks take on the West Michigan Whitecaps. There is always some downtime in between games so I made my way to the visitor’s side to get some pictures of the new scoreboard straight on. As I sat down to get my shots I saw Kevin Eichhorn who was starting game two for the Whitecaps start to warm up. Kevin’s father Mark pitched in the majors so I thought it would be cool to get him into the shot. For some reason it has been a favorite of mine ever since. Since my photography really started out with the vast majority being in the sports field I thought that this would be a good picture for this post. For the full sets just click on one of links below.
