Today my 50mm lens came in the mail. Of course I was having a bunch of fun with it shooting different things. Then I found the Christmas tree to try a little bokeh with. I have tried this effect with my other lenses, but could not get it right. This seemed to work very nicely. I had some nice shots that showed exactly what this new lens could do, but I really liked how this looked. I am sure that the HDR run that this blog has seen will go on a short hiatus while I play with the new lens. Even thought Christmas is in the rearview mirror I thought that I would get this on here.
In the process of shooting this I actually learned something. That’s right I learned something by shooting pictures. Who knew? As one shot turned completely dark I learned that LED lights do not always stay on. In fact more often than not I had a dark frame when I shot the tree. I had some fun testing this theory out. This is the last in a quick series of three pictures I took. As the frames are scrolled through you can see the lights getting brighter. This is the brightest of the bunch so of course it is the picture of the day.
