Day 38: Opening Day

I love the beginning of a season. Everything seems so exciting. The thing that makes it great in most sports is the fact that the flag gets draped on the field. I have yet to see that happen on a basketball court until this past weekend. On Friday for the first official game of the renovated Mackey Arena they brought the flag onto the field. Today for the first women’s game of the season the flag was brought out again. I was going to put the picture of the flag on the court Friday as a bonus picture the other night, but thought that I would leave the tribute to the Veteran’s up as long as I could. Today I really wanted to wait a while to leave the picture of Robert Marve up on the front page. I don’t capture emotion very often in my pictures so I really like how that one turned out. This picture could be better, but I always feel rushed when the anthem is playing. I don’t feel right taking pictures during it so I just rush a couple and hope they turned out. This has been a long sports weekend, and it has shown on the site. Tomorrow there is a chance for another basketball game so who knows what will end up on here.
