October 12th, 2011: Lafayette Train Depot

1/1600 f/5 ISO 320 43mm

When I set out to take some pictures today I did not have this one in mind. It kind of just happened. I had thought of a shot of the leaf covered walk to the bridge or a shot of the Wabash itself. For some reason I liked this simple picture of the depot sign from across the tracks.

I shot this picture in aperture priority mode. I don’t know why I jumped out of manual mode, but I kept trying some things around the bridge. One of the things that I need to work on is to always check my settings, and know why I am set where I am. Sometimes I just float along with what has been working well.
